Grand Rapids-brewed beer goes down easy with delicious dogs, marvelous mustards, and world-class sausages at B.O.B.’s Brewery. John Svobada, the B.O.B. brewmaster, brings years of experience, a passion for craft beer, and loads of ingenuity to art of brewing and this eclectic place. The names alone of his craft beers are entertaining and inviting. Full On IPA. Bobinator. Spaceboy Stout. Wit Rabbit. Crimson King.
Inspired by his love of food, beverage (think craft beer), and the community, Greg Gilmore opened the brewery in 1997. Like so many of us, Greg loves this area. As he says, “I live on a small farm 20 minutes outside of downtown. I love the size of Grand Rapids and the ability to escape the city so quickly. I also enjoy how friendly the people are and the fact that Grand Rapids is always moving forward.”
As mentioned on the brewery website, Greg believes every time John crafts a new beer, there is potential for magic. John’s beers are unique, especially some of the small-batch, seasonal brews. He’s not afraid of being bold and taking risks. An extra hoppy brew like Spooky Action isn’t for everyone, but it’s perfect for some. That’s the beauty of craft beer. It’s also why you can taste any B.O.B. Brew before purchasing. B.O.B.‘s Brewery also features an online Beer Finder and encourages guests to craft their own palate by preference of beer weight, color, strength and flavor.
