Owners Bob and Nancy Schulze settled in West Michigan over 11 years ago and made an insightful observation. The Holland area was missing a fashion-forward, independently owned Optical Boutique featuring unique well-crafted frames. Bob had worked with eyewear designers in the past and witnessed the manufacturing to marketing process firsthand, selling to some of the most prestigious retailers in the world. With 20 years of optical experience and a desire to create an innovative, artistic and creative boutique people would enjoy visiting, Bob and Nancy moved forward with their plans.
Just two and a half years after opening GLOBE Design & Vision in downtown Holland, they determined a larger space would invite inspiration and encourage relaxation.
Bob says, “We wanted to convey the large scope of possibility when it comes to eyewear. Our emphasis is on style as well as the medical.”
Throughout the spacious boutique, unique eyewear is artistically displayed and thoughtfully arranged in on wooden shelves and glass cases. Comfortable leather seating, artwork by local artists, and colorful photography add to the ambience. It’s almost as if you’re visiting a gallery. Bob says, “The interior of the store lays a foundation of creativity and design. We entertain the possibilities instead of short walking the process. We help pair the perfect eyewear with a customer’s personality.”
